Christina Aguilera knows she's beautiful at every stage of her life, no matter what critics say, proving words really can't bring her down.

The "Genie in a Bottle" singer addressed the public's longstanding "obsession" with her body and speculation about her weight loss in a piece for Glamour's August issue, months after rumors began circulating that the Grammy winner was one of the many celebrities utilizing prescription medications like Ozempic to help them achieve their weight loss goals.

"I have a maturity now where I just don’t give a f–k about your opinion. I’m not going to take it on," Aguilera told the outlet in the piece published this week, expertly shutting down the gossip without explicitly touching the subject.

"It must be your responsibility to take up your space," the Burlesque actress insisted. "Other people’s opinions of me are not my business."

Aguilera, now 43, discussed the scrutiny as something that's popped up more recently in her career, suggesting she's now mature enough to let herself age in peace and not have her self-esteem tied to “how skinny I was.”

“When you’re a teenager, you have a very different body than when you’re in your 20s,” she explained. “I started to fill out, and then that was unacceptable because it was like, ‘Oh, she’s getting thicker.’ Then I had industry people: ‘They liked your body and how you were as a skinny teenager.’”

Along with learning to drown out the noise, she's become self-aware enough to recognize that the way she views herself and her relationship with her body will affect her two children in some way, shape, or form.

“Your kids trigger things in you that you don’t want them to go through,” she said. “And it’s almost like you’re reliving this whole thing again.”

“I’ve seen so much so young,” Aguilera added. “You just want the best for your kids.”
