Christina Haack Reportedly Believes Ex Josh Hall Will Do Anything 'To Get Her Money' Amid Divorce
Christina Hall has already made major changes in her professional and personal life. First of all, she’s returned to her maiden name, Haack, and fans will see that reflected in the upcoming season of Christina in the Country, beginning Nov. 12. Now, she’s also reacting to the reported financial demands being made by her estranged husband, Joshua Hall.
A Haack insider told Life & Style that the HGTV star is still processing the breakdown of her marriage because she “can’t believe that this is the same guy she thought she’d spend the rest of her life with.” It doesn’t sound like the divorce will turn amicable anytime soon because the source added, “There’s no telling how low Josh will stoop to get her money.” Fox Business confirmed in August that there was no prenuptial agreement between the couple, so the divorce will likely follow California’s community property laws while they were married.

There have already been several public disputes over their funds, including $35,000 that was allegedly transferred from her property funds to his personal bank account as well as the pending sale of Haack’s $4.5 million Tennessee home. While she shared with her fans on Instagram Story on Oct. 3 that she was “excited for a new venture in business & real estate,” Hall believes that he has an “appreciation interest” in the property and that he had made “good faith settlement offer” to his estranged wife, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly.
According to Haack’s attorney Matthew S. DeArmey, Hall’s ask was for “$65,000 per month in spousal support from [Christina] on a 2-year, 9-month marriage.” He described the financial demand as “outrageous” because Hall is “self-supporting.” His legal team pushed back on the claims on Oct. 15, stating, “Josh never requested $65,000 in support. That’s false.”
The other tricky issue might be Hall’s exit from the HGTV show, The Flip Off. He was supposed to star in the series with Haack, Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae El Moussa. They are moving forward with the trio and leaving Hall behind. Family law attorney Aliette H. Carolan, Esq. told SheKnows that Hall might be able to profit from the show despite his departure.
“In California, which follows community property laws, absent a prenup, marital assets are generally divided equally,” Carolan, who isn’t an attorney on the case, explained. “This could possibly include rights to shows they created or participated in during the marriage.” With so many layers and complexities to the pending divorce Haack and Hall have a lot to settle before they can formally put the marriage behind them.
