Christina Hall's Marriage Hit by Josh "Piggybacking Off Her," Insider Reveals
Christina Hall, the HGTV star celebrated for her house-flipping expertise and her very SoCal touch of incorporating crystals into each renovation, is known for creating serene living spaces. Her latest project, however, involves protecting her peace from her soon-to-be ex-husband, Josh Hall, who insiders say has been “piggy backing off” Christina for some time.
The couple, who secretly married in 2022, filed for divorce on July 16, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The reality star quickly declared she’s done with anyone trying to ride her coattails after the filing. On social media, she accused Hall of stealing $35,000 from her during the proceedings.

Since the divorce became public, Christina has repeatedly stressed her intent to keep her soon-to-be third ex-husband from disrupting her peace or taking a cent from the reality empire she’s built over a decade. She first broke into home renovation reality with her first husband, Tarek El Moussa, on Flip or Flop. The two divorced in 2018 and share daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8. She then married Ant Anstead in December 2018 and called it quits by 2021. The two share a son, Hudson London, 4. Now, with her third marriage officially on its way out, she’s flipping her life back to peace — and keeping that prosperity.
Insiders reveal that her marriage with Josh had been unstable for some time. “He was really piggybacking off her,” an HGTV insider noted to New York Post. “I’m sure the show ‘The Flip Off’ was the last straw for Christina. He wasn’t good on camera.”

Their joint projects like Christina in the Country and Christina on the Coast showcased a seemingly perfect partnership, but insiders reveal it was far from idyllic behind the scenes. “She tried to make it work, and there’s a breaking point,” a source close to Christina added. “Things have not been great for a really long time.”
Despite their public presence, the cracks in their relationship were clear to those close to them. “The marriage was strained, but Josh never expected this ending,” a source close to him told The Post.
The source close to Josh also disputes Christina’s claim that the former cop turned realtor stole $35k from her: “He transferred money from a joint bank account solely to pay the bills on one of their rental properties, which he has continued to manage following their separation. It was used in the ordinary course of business. Nothing was ‘stolen.’ Any insinuation that Josh stole or mishandled funds is defamatory. Josh was always very financially responsible with the couple’s money.”
Christina, on the other hand, has been outspoken about her dedication to her family and career. “Christina is being very vocal. The last two divorces she really was like, ‘I’m not going to speak poorly about my ex-husband because he’s the father of my children,’” the source close to her added. “[But Josh is] trying to take money from her that she worked hard for … [and] she’s fighting back.”
On July 25, she took to Instagram to vent, claiming, “I have worked my ass off to build this life for myself and my children and anyone who would try and take what they do not deserve/what they did NOT work for should be ashamed.” She added, “An insecure man with a large ego can sure try and derail you.”
As for their future projects, Christina is ready to move forward without Josh. “She is getting evidence together for the divorce but he’s also ready for battle,” an insider shared. “Josh wants to clear his name and get justice for himself, whereas Christina feels she has been wronged.”
