Who Is Christopher Mintz-Plasse's Fiancée? All About Britt Bowman
The actor-musician and concert photographer got engaged in December 2022
Christopher Mintz-Plasse may be famous for his McLovin’ nickname, but he’s not a player — there’s just one lady in his life, his fiancée, Britt Bowman.
While the Superbad actor is still starring in TV shows and movies, he’s also showcased his music skills over the past few years, joining bands like Benkweller and playing festivals where Bowman gets to capture him in his element.
An Iowa native, Bowman is a professional concert photographer who has toured all over the world with different bands and covered festivals, shooting bands and artists, like Tinashe, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Miguel and more.
The creative, collaborative couple have been together for six years, and have been engaged since December 2022.
Mintz-Plasse has called his fiancée “literally the kindest person I’ve ever met,” and in turn, she’s called him her “favorite person.”
So who is Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s fiancée? Here is everything to know about Britt Bowman and her relationship with the actor and musician.
She’s from Iowa
Mintz-Plasse and Bowman reside in sunny Los Angeles, but she hails from Sioux City, Iowa.
In July 2023, Bowman got to visit her hometown while on tour with Danish rock band, Volbeat, when they played a show at the Hard Rock Casino.
“My first post of this tour had to be my hometown show we did in Sioux City, such a great day,” she wrote alongside a carousel of photos from the show on Instagram.
“Got to see all of my family, my dad went crowd surfing and the boss gave me a nice little shout out ????,” she added.
They got engaged in December 2022
A few years after officiating the wedding of his friend, musician Matthew Koma and actress Hilary Duff, Mintz-Plasse popped the question to Bowman on Christmas Eve 2022.
“Life’s over!!!??????,” he jokingly captioned an Instagram photo set showing off his new fiancée and her new ring.
“@mintzplasse did a thing ??12.24.22 ????????,” Bowman wrote in her own post.
The couple had previously celebrated their 4-year dating anniversary in June 2021, with Bowman sharing a carousel of photos of them at Fenway Park, relaxing in beach chairs, at a casino and in nature.
“4 rotations around the sun with @mintzplasse ??,” she wrote.
She’s the band assistant to Danish band Volbeat
Bowman got her start in the music industry by booking local shows in the Midwest as a teenager.
One local band had her come out on tour with them as their merch manager, and she worked as a tour manager and merch manager up until 2015, when she was asked to do tour photography and social media for Volbeat, as she recalled in a 2019 interview on the podcast How To Become A Rockstar Photographer Podcast with Matthias Hombauer.
“I was definitely one of those people who was like, give me more, I wanna learn everything,” Bowman said, speaking about her eagerness to take on a number of roles on tour, including photographer, driver and merch manager.
“I do their wardrobe, I handle all their press that comes in daily on tour … I’m kinda like the middle man,” she said of her role as band assistant to Volbeat.
She’s an award-winning concert photographer
Bowman is a professional concert and tour photographer, traveling with bands to capture photos from their performances. Her work often takes her across the globe, with a number of tours in Europe.
She’s traveled with bands like Disturbed and Volbeat, who have opened for Metallica. She’s also toured with Benkweller, whom Mintz-Plasse plays with.
When she’s on the road with other bands, Mintz-Plasse misses her.
“Please don’t go on tour again because I’m a mess when you’re gone,” he wrote in a birthday post for Bowman in 2018.
She credited daily calls to Mintz-Plasse while on tour as a grounding force in a 2019 podcast interview.
She also takes photos at music festivals, where she’s captured the likes of Miguel, Phantogram, Phoenix and more.
In December 2022, Bowman announced that she’d been nominated for a Women In Live Music award for best Concert Photographer. “Feeling really grateful right now,” she wrote in the announcement.
Later that month, the organization announced that she’d won the award.
“I won an award for my concert photography this week. It’s been a fun week. ????,” Bowman wrote the next day on Instagram.
In a 2019 podcast interview, Bowman stated that she’d love the opportunity to shoot more women in music in the future.
“I’d love to take photos of Lizzo, maybe Beyoncé … that could be fun,” she said.
She’s called Mintz-Plasse her “adventure partner”
Wishing her fiancé a happy birthday in June 2023, Bowman called him her “forever adventure partner,” posting photos of them kissing in front of the Swiss Alps.
Aside from their Switzerland vacation, the couple have also adventured in Sóller, a town in Mallorca, Spain.
Bowman shared photos and videos of herself and Mintz-Plasse riding the Sóller tram, swimming in Balearic sea, and taking in scenic sunsets.
In a separate photo set, she shared more memories from their Spain trip, including a snorkeling excursion and doing a “fire dance with demons for The Fiesta of Saint Bartholomew.”
In 2019, the pair vacationed in Italy, visiting Vico Equense and Venice.
“Adventure 1 complete. @mintzplasse,” Bowman wrote on Instagram, sharing photos of them in a pool. She followed up with another collection of photos in Venice, picturing the pair in a canoe in a canal.
They share two dogs
Together, Mintz-Plasse and Bowman are pet parents to two pups: Crosby and Potato.
Mintz-Plasse has posted in celebration of Crosby’s birthday on Instagram a few times, and he wished him a happy 9th birthday in October 2021.
“You’re creakier now, but still my boy,” he wrote alongside a photo of him holding his dog.
In November 2020, Bowman shared a cute cartoon of herself and Potato alongside the photo inspiration.
“@mintzplasse turned us into cartoons ??,” she wrote.
