Christopher Nolan‘s next film at Universal has just cast Zendaya and Anne Hathaway, according to our sister site Deadline. They are joining previously announced actors Tom Holland and Matt Damon. Yes, that means “Spider-Man” lovebirds (and real life couple) Zendaya and Holland will soon be spending a lot more time together.

Little is known about Nolan’s new movie, except that it will be an “event film” and it will have an IMAX theater release on July 17, 2026. Start saving up your pocket change right now!

This marks Hathaway’s third collaboration with Nolan, following her appearances in “The Dark Knight Rises” (2012) and “Interstellar” (2014). It’s also the third time for Damon after “Interstellar” and “Oppenheimer” (2023). Meanwhile, it will be the first time working with the filmmaker for Zendaya and Holland.

The project is in pre-production right now and is expected to start shooting in early 2025. Feel free to ignore all of the loglines and descriptions you currently see floating around the internet, because Deadline claims those are “wrong” and that details are being kept hush-hush. Zendaya and Holland first met in 2016 while filming “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and they started dating soon after. They play love interests Peter Parker and MJ in the Marvel film, which later spawned two sequels: “Spider-Man: Far From Home” (2019) and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021).

In March, Nolan won the first two Oscars of his esteemed career, for directing “Oppenheimer” and for producing the biopic with Emma Thomas and Charles Roven. He also earned a bid for writing the screenplay that was adapted from the biography “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer” by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.

Nolan previously contended at the Academy Awards for writing “Memento” (2001), for writing and producing “Inception” (2010), and for directing and producing “Dunkirk” (2017).

Zendaya is currently enraptured in an awards campaign for the hit film “Challengers,” in which she plays a fictional tennis pro who inexplicably becomes involved in a love triangle with Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist. She also appears in the big budget sequel “Dune: Part Two,” which is expected to receive multiple Oscar nominations.
