Did Chucky just kill Woody? Shocking 'Child's Play' poster roasts 'Toy Story 4'
Chucky may be a toy, but he did not come to play. The new poster for Child's Play, a new remake of the 1988 killer-doll film, casts some hilarious shade on Toy Story 4, the Pixar film opening the same weekend. Naturally, the Toy Story sequel is expected to crush Child's Play at the box office — which may be why Orion Pictures felt emboldened to release a poster of Chucky's bloody sneaker, walking away from the mangled arm and hat of a doll who looks a whole lot like Woody. The studio debuted the poster on Tuesday, with the tagline: "There's a new sheriff in town."

Mark Hamill, who voices Child's Play's plastic serial killer, contributed his own Toy Story pun.

The joke gets even richer when you take a look at Woody's Toy Story 4 character poster that inspired it. Imagine the two images back-to-back in your local theater, like "before" and "after" pictures.

Of course, were Chucky to actually attack Woody, we're pretty sure that his friends could collectively defeat the demon doll. Do not underestimate the combined forces of Bo Peep and Evil Dr. Porkchop!

Weirdly enough, both Chucky and Woody are owned by boys named Andy. Andy from Child's Play is played by Gabriel Bateman, Aubrey Plaza stars as his mother, and Brian Tyree Henry plays the police detective who investigates the unlikely killings (a role originated by Chris Sarandon in 1988).
The first Child's Play spawned four sequels: Child's Play 2 (1990), Child's Play 3 (1991), Bride of Chucky (1998) and Seed of Chucky (2004).
Child's Play opens in theaters, alongside Toy Story 4, on June 21.
