Cincinnati named world's top trending destination by Airbnb amid Taylor Swift, July 4th
If you're searching for a fun and exciting Fourth of July destination, look no further than the Queen City.
According to a recent study by Airbnb, Cincinnati is the No. 1 trending destination in the world for Fourth of July weekend this year. Another tri-state city, Lousiville, Kentucky, ranked second. No other cities in Ohio or Kentucky were featured.
While July Fourth is an important holiday in the U.S. and popular in Cincinnati, the city is also hosting Taylor Swift's Eras Tour at Paycor Stadium on Friday and Saturday. The upcoming shows likely played a role in the rankings, as at least 200,000 people are expected Downtown those days.
Airbnb calculated trending destinations by evaluating the growth in check-in searches between July 1 and July 5, 2022, and compared it to check-in searches between June 30 and July 4, 2023.
