Alliances were certainly tested during this week’s Claim to Fame.

Just a week after Miguel’s shocking guess-off, episode 3 saw Hud and Adam in the bottom two. Though the two worked closely with Naomi throughout the season, that all came to an end when the two men secretly worked together to uncover her celebrity relative.

As Adam was unanimously picked as the guesser, he put his ally Naomi in the hot seat. Thanks to some crucial help from Hud behind the scenes, Adam correctly guessed Naomi’s celebrity relative as her cousin Molly Ringwald, sending her packing as a result.

Speaking with PEOPLE exclusively about that shocking guess-off, Naomi notes she “felt extremely betrayed” in that moment. Though she notes that she got over it “extremely quickly,” what was most surprising was Hud’s betrayal.

“I didn't really feel like he needed to take me out because I was never in the bottom two, ever, so there was never a point where he was afraid I was going to use him, and there were other options, too,” she explains. “So yeah, I just felt a little betrayed. But I understand why he did it. He was taking out his biggest competition. I had his clue. I was annoyed because it was the boys' idea, ‘Let's get each other's clues and let's protect each other.’ But all is fair and love and war and Claim to Fame.”

“I always intended on keeping my word with Hud,” she adds of her alliance with Hud and Adam. “We kind of had this theory of protect each other until we can't.”

As for why she decided to stop helping Adam in the third episode, she says it all comes down to differing personalities. “I love him. I don't want to be in another competition with him, but I'm happy that we're friends,” she says of Adam.

"It was a personality thing. I just felt like he wasn't really pulling his weight. I was constantly strategizing. I was constantly throwing out ideas," she continues. "And it just felt more like he was just wanting my ideas. I was just looking for someone to bounce something off. Technically, we're all in it for a hundred grand, but really you can only count on yourself.”

However, she iterates that she has no bad blood between Adam and Hud. “It's all love,” she says, noting the entire cast has a group chat. “We talk almost every day. We're the only ones that can commiserate about our experiences. We all had a talk when everything was over and we said, ‘What happens in the house stays in the house. We're all family now. We're just going to let it go.’”

As for her actual family, Naomi says her famous cousin, Molly Ringwald, was like a big sister growing up as The Breakfast Club actress’ parents took Naomi in when she was younger.

“I view her parents as kind of pseudo-parents myself,” she explains. “They did everything for me that a parent should, and I have so much respect for them. Molly and her brother and sister always seemed like more than cousins to me. We were extremely close. We're still close now, but she lives on the other side of the country.”

Naomi recalls that when she graduated from high school, she lived with Ringwald in Los Angeles as she was figuring out what she wanted to do next. “I didn't know if I wanted to go to college yet, and she was like, ‘Why don't you come and move down to L.A. and come live with me for a while and see what you want to do?’ I got to experience things that I never in a million years would've experienced. I got to travel, I got to meet people. I'm so thankful for Molly and her husband for giving me a few years where, honestly, you couldn't buy the memories that I have,” she says.

“We're still really close,” she adds, noting that Ringwald was eager to give her a few pointers before she filmed the show.

“We were constantly texting and on the phone in preparation for the show,” she explains. “She doesn't really watch reality TV, but once I explained to her the premise and the concept, she was all for it. She was like, ‘You need to lock down your Facebook, maybe even delete all of us.’ She was totally in it, the gameplay of how to keep my identity a secret. Our family is very competitive.”

Naomi jokes that through the competition, she actually has a new “cousin” through Gracie, whose celebrity relative was revealed to be Ringwald’s Pretty in Pink costar Jon Cryer in episode 2.

She notes that the reveal of Gracie’s relative left her in “absolute shock.” Interestingly enough, while Naomi says she’s met a few of Ringwald’s fellow Brat Pack members through the years, she never crossed paths with Cryer, joking that the Claim to Fame producers are “evil geniuses” for setting that up.

“Gracie and I have a little inside joke now, and when we text each other, we call each other cousins because we joke that we're pop culture cousins,” Naomi adds.
