The star of “Homeland” is selling her New York City home.

Claire Danes, the 45-year-old actress who has wowed audiences on screen for decades, has entered contract to sell her four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom West Village townhouse, according to a StreetEasy listing update.

Danes — who beyond playing a CIA agent struggling with bipolar disorder in that thrilling Showtime series, also starred in the 1996 film “Romeo + Juliet” alongside Leonardo DiCaprio — listed the 3,890-square-foot residence in early August for $9.75 million, The Post reported at the time. For now, since the sale has not yet closed, it isn’t clear as to who’s buying the property — or for how much.

The listing rep, Tamer Howard of the Corcoran Group, confirmed via a spokeswoman that the listing entered contract — but declined The Post’s request for comment on the deal.

Danes shares the townhouse with her husband, the British actor Hugh Dancy, known for his roles in the television series “Hannibal” and the play “Apologia.” They purchased the dwelling in 2012 for $6.87 million, according to city records. That’s when they were expecting their first son. In the years that followed, they had two more children.

Danes, a native New Yorker, grew up in Soho — and despite parting ways with this home, doesn’t intend on parting ways with her hometown. She and Dancy simply need more space as their children grow, and some wiggle room for their extended family when they travel to New York, according to the New York Times — which first reported news of the listing in August.

That doesn’t mean this 19th-century Greek Revival nest, as it stands, is anything to sniff at.

During their ownership, Danes and Dancy modernized its interiors, working with Joan Krevlin, a founding partner of BKSK Architects. The result is nothing short of splendid.

Krevlin opened and brightened the spaces, particularly focusing on the ground floor. The work, which overall was thorough — and had Krevlin living inside while the couple traveled for work — also included moving the kitchen from the front of the property to the back. Installing a glass wall on one side of it, plus glass bricks in the ceiling, allowed natural light to flow in.

Listing images additionally show interiors that seem straight from a design magazine. Behind a cherry-red entry door facing the street, there’s an airy living area that opens to a lush outdoor hangout. There’s also good space for a large dining table, a home office that’s tucked away behind sliding doors, a wet bar with built-in shelving for books and beautifully restored fireplaces throughout.

Up top, there’s more private outdoor space, thanks to a roof terrace. That has an outdoor kitchen, a pizza oven, as well as views stretching downtown to One World Trade.
