Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy List Their Longtime N.Y.C. Home for $10 Million After Welcoming Third Baby
The charming West Village home boasts four bedrooms and four full bathrooms, as well as three outdoor spaces
Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy are saying goodbye to the New York City townhouse they’ve called home for over a decade.
The married actors have officially put their West Village abode on the market for $9.8 million after first purchasing it for $6.9 million in 2012, according to property records. The real estate change comes one year after Danes and Dancy welcomed their third child, a baby girl, in July 2023. They also share sons Rowan, 4, and Cyrus, 10.
Tamer Howard of Corcoran, who currently holds the listing, tells the New York Times that the couple is seeking a bigger property that can better accommodate their family of five and host their extended family when they come to visit.
Despite the real estate change, the Homeland actress and Hannibal alum do not plan to leave New York City, Howard adds.

BKSK Architects founding partner Joan Krevlin – who helped bring Danes' vision for the home to life through an extensive renovation – tells the outlet that the interior reflects the actress' love of "loft living" as she grew up in New York City lofts. Thus, the property offers an endless amount of natural light and an open floor layout.
With four bedrooms and four full bathrooms, the 3,890-square-foot townhouse also boasts three lush outdoor spaces. The property was built in the 1880s and offers views of the surrounding gardens.
Of the historic property, Howard says, “It’s been incredibly well modernized, while still preserving its original West Village charm. It’s a really happy, romantic, special place.”
Upon entering the charming abode, a mudroom, coat closet and powder room immediately greet residents on the first level, as well as a home office that can be concealed with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors.
The living room, which leads directly into the dining area and kitchen, boasts a cozy fireplace and 11-foot ceilings.
Luxuries like heated floors and electric blinds can be found in the kitchen, as well as access to the terrace through a folding glass wall.

Moving up the wooden staircase to the second level, another fireplace can be found in the media room. It also boasts a wet bar and leads out to the terrace through more floor-to-ceiling glass doors.
One bedroom is located on the second level, while the next two are on the third. In the north-facing bedroom, residents can marvel at the views of the townhouse’s lush gardens.

The fourth level is home to the entire primary bedroom suite equipped with skylights and custom-built closets. In the bathroom, a steam shower, soaking tub and additional fireplace can be found.
At the top of the property, the rooftop space is an ideal spot for hosting with its seating and dining areas and outdoor kitchen surrounded by more greenery. The property also boasts a wine cellar and laundry room in the basement.
