Chamber Executive Director Kim O’Sullivan said they’ve had concerts in the past, but this is the first time in the fair’s 81-year history someone like Walker has performed.
“This is such a great name in country music and we just wanted to give Lamar something to be a buzz about, it’s been a great and the collaboration with the Stompin’ Grounds and the Lamar Fair and Expo have been awesome to collaborate with on this event,” said O’Sullivan.
The chamber is hoping to have 2,000 people turn out for the concert. There are no VIP tickets remaining, but there are still general admission seats.
