Clint Eastwood’s ‘Juror #2’ with Nicholas Hoult to Premiere at AFI Fest as Closing Night Film
Clint Eastwood’s latest film “Juror #2” will make its world premiere as the closing night film for the upcoming 38th edition of AFI Fest, the festival announced Thursday.
Nicholas Hoult leads the cast of the film that will be released later this year by Warner Bros. Pictures. The world premiere of “Juror #2” will screen at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre on October 27.

Several of Eastwood’s more recent films behind the camera have all premiered at AFI Fest, including “American Sniper,” “J. Edgar,” and “Richard Jewell.” In 1996, Eastwood was awarded with the 24th AFI Life Achievement Award, and he received an honorary degree from AFI back in 2009.
Toni Collette, J.K. Simmons, Chris Messina, Gabriel Basso, Zoey Deutch, Cedric Yarbrough, Leslie Bibb, Kiefer Sutherland, and Eastwood’s daughter Francesca Eastwood all co-star in the legal drama, which follows a family man who, while serving as a juror in a high profile murder trial finds himself struggling with a moral dilemma that could sway the jury verdict.
No first look image from “Juror #2” yet, but Warner Bros. announced as well today that the film will open in limited release on November 1.
“Juror #2” is written by Jonathan Abrams; produced by Eastwood, Tim Moore, Jessica Meier, Adam Goodman, and Matt Skiena. Executive producers are David M. Bernstein, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, and Jeremy Bell.
Previously announced for AFI Fest, the world premiere of the documentary “Music By John Williams” will open the festival on Oct. 23, Robert Zemeckis’ “Here” starring Tom Hanks will be the Centerpiece Screening on Oct. 25, and the animated “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl” will also have its world premiere on the afternoon of Oct. 27.
The festival runs Oct. 23-27, and the full lineup will be unveiled Oct. 1.
Patron passholders will have priority access to screening selection on October 2 beginning at 11:00 a.m. PT. Star passholders will have early access to screening selection on October 3 beginning at 11:00 a.m. PT. Individual tickets will be available on October 7. Learn more at FEST.AFI.com.
