A Close-Up Look at the Hey Dude x NASCAR Collaboration [PHOTOS]
Hey Dude has joined forces with NASCAR to release a collection inspired by the racing company and some of the athletes associated with it. Released Aug. 13, the collection takes the Wally silhouette and reimagines it in five different designs, three of which pay homage to drivers Chase Elliott, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kyle Larson.
The Wally NASCAR is a black shoe with NASCAR written on it and detailed with NASCAR colors. The Wally NASCAR Daytona 500 is a beige shoe with NASCAR coloring and branding based on the international speedway. The Wally Chase Elliott is a blue shoe named for the driver who won the 2020 Cup Series and is strongly associated with the blue No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts color palette. The green Wally Dale Earnhardt Jr. shoe is influenced by the NASCAR Hall of Famer and the enduring Sun Drop scheme he created with JR Motorsports. Lastly, the Wally Kyle Larson is based on the red, white and blue design of Larson’s HendrickCars.com design, closely associated with the No. 5 Chevrolet.

Megan Malayter, NASCAR vice president of licensing and consumer products, commented on the collaboration.
“Hey Dude is an ideal partner to add to NASCAR’s licensing portfolio, and one that will absolutely resonate with NASCAR fans,” said Malayter. “The brand’s ability to delivery easy-on, easy-off comfort with designs that allow our fans to stylishly express themselves and their passions is a perfect fit at or away from the racetrack.”
Paul Nugent, chief marketing officer at Hey Dude, also made a statement.
