Can Clyde’s Days of our Lives Bombshell Be True?

Clyde revealed earth-shattering news to get out of being killed.
Clyde revealed earth-shattering news to get out of being killed.

Chad confronted Clyde with the intent of shooting him on the June 5 episode of Days of Our Lives, but the villain had an ace up his sleeve. Plus, EJ and Melinda came to an understanding.

EJ and Melinda Called Out Hypocrisy

Pretending that he went to the hospital to have his head checked out after Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) supposedly knocked him unconscious, EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) instead went to Melinda’s (Tina Huang) office to confront her. During their heated discussion, he pointed out that she was perfectly willing to let Nicole (Arianne Zucker) be devastated by thinking her baby had died while she reminded him that he’s also keeping baby Jude (Oliver McLarty), from his bio-daddy, Eric (Greg Vaughan). Reaching a stalemate, both agreed to keep the secret, thereby preserving EJ’s marriage to Nicole and Melinda’s job as district attorney.

We have to admit, we didn’t think Melinda was gonna score two for two. Not only did she get one over on police commissioner Rafe (Galen Gerring) by withholding Clyde’s (James Read) little black book as an insurance policy, but she also circumvented EJ’s notorious wrath. We couldn’t help but chuckle as she put her feet up on her desk with an ear-to-ear smirk on her face. So far, the score is Melinda — 2, and the people trying to take her down — 0.

Clyde May Have Circumvented a Vigilante Execution

After sending Ava (Tamara Braun) back to the hotel, Harris (Steve Burton) started to read Clyde his rights when Chad (Billy Flynn) showed up, grabbed a gun, and planned on murdering the villain. Harris tried in vain to stop him like he did with Ava, but the DiMera was beyond angry. Chad told the criminal that after she was stabbed, Abigail (Marci Miller) was still alive when he got to her and died in his arms. He wondered if Clyde knew how she felt at that moment. The villain stated that he wouldn’t know because he didn’t kill her, dropping the insane bombshell, “Abigail is alive.”

The casting of AnnaLynne McCord as an angelic-looking character named Marin has many fans speculating that she could be an Abby recast. If what he said is true, it will have major repercussions because Clyde has leverage over Chad and Harris and may not reveal the supposedly not-dead Abby’s whereabouts unless he’s freed.

And if Abby does return, will all those long months of people grieving her death and Chad being beside himself be for nothing? If Abby’s death were permanent, it would have been a far more powerful story point. But, this is DAYS after all, and the beyond seems to have a revolving door, so only time will tell if Clyde’s speaking the truth or not by dangling the Abby carrot in front of everyone. Pop Culture Reference of the Day

At one point, Rafe was talking to Stefan (Brandon Barash), noting that Melinda can’t prosecute Clyde’s henchman Gil (David S. Lee) because he’s dead, quipping, “She can’t do the old ‘If the glove doesn’t fit, you must acquit,’ thing, you know, make a name for herself.”

The phrase was spoken by O.J. Simpson’s lawyer, Johnnie Cochran, during the now infamous 1994 to 1995 trial, and has remained a quote in the zeitgeist ever since.
