Gauff has been in a multiyear contract with New Balance since signing with the brand in October 2018. Prior to her return to the U.S. Open, Gauff celebrated her New Balance partnership with a pop-up in New York City on Thursday, which featured special guest Jaden Smith. “I was definitely not expecting to be surprised by Jaden last night! I’m always listening to ‘Icon’ to get myself hyped up before I play, so it was amazing to see him perform it live,” the tennis star said in a statement.

“Being part of the New Balance family alongside him is really special to me, and I’m so grateful he came out to support me and the launch of my Coco CG2 last night!”
