Cody Rhodes Chooses Roman Reigns As His WrestleMania 40 Opponent, The Rock Slaps Him In The Face
Cody Rhodes will get another chance to finish his story, but The Rock wasn’t too happy about it.
Rhodes appeared at the end of Thursday’s WrestleMania press conference and made his intentions clear, and he’ll face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. The Rock and Roman Reigns have talked all week about facing each other at the event. Roman took things one step further and declared that he was picking The Rock as his opponent.
The Rock came to the stage in Las Vegas to a mixed reaction and talked about how Roman vs. Rock was destiny and the biggest main event ever. Cody came out and called their actions “bullshit” and said he had something to add. Cody noted how he had a lot of conversations, referring to having council with The Rock last week, but declared he was facing Roman.
Earlier in the night, Roman took a dig at Rhodes’ father, so Cody returned the favor and said their ancestors would be ashamed. The Rock seemed to then back Reigns and said Cody couldn’t talk about their family like that, and slapped Cody across the face.
The two sides were separated to end the press conference, but it looks like we have our WrestleMania 40 main event.
