A comedian with a long history of violent outbursts is facing new charges after an incident at his home on Monday.

Andy Dick, 55, was arrested on Monday afternoon in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Times and TMZ, after he allegedly assaulted his boyfriend. Dick was booked on felony domestic battery charges and released on $50,000 bail later that day.

Police sources told TMZ that the comedian his his boyfriend "upside the head" with a liquor bottle, leaving the man with a deep cut.

A source told TMZ that it was the second time that police have been called to the home after a fight between the couple; the last time, TMZ reported, Dick hit his boyfriend in the face with a frying pan. It's not clear if he was arrested at that time.

Dick is due in court on March 7.

This is not Dick's first run-in with the law. He was arrested on June 26 on charges of assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly threw a metal chair at a man that Page Six identified as Lucas Crawford; Dick claimed Crawford broke his leg and he threw the chair in self defense while trying to get away. Dick's then-finacée, Elisa Jordana, told listeners of her podcast that Crawford had been taken to the hospital after the incident.

“I saw pictures, I saw video; it’s not good,” she said at the time.

The couple broke off their engagement shortly thereafter, with Jordana telling listeners that Dick had continued to see Crawford romantically during their relationship with her understanding, but she felt like he spent more time pursuing Crawford than being with her. She added that, the night Dick was charged with assault, he had shown up late to her birthday party, asked her mother for pills and then left to meet Crawford.

Charges in that case are still pending.

Dick was convicted of two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery after groping a woman on a street in Los Angeles in April 2018. He was ordered to report to jail for 14 days in 2019 after failing to perform community service as a condition of his suspended sentence in that case, according to TMZ.

He also faces different charges dating to April 2018 for allegedly groping an Uber driver's genitals, to which he pleaded not guilty. He was charged in the case in 2019, and a pre-trial hearing in that long-delayed case was scheduled for April 2021.

In February 2018, his then-wife, Lena Sved, applied for and received a restraining order against Dick, according to People. In her court filings, Sved said that Dick had gotten into two arguments with the couple's son, Jacob, during which Dick turned violent.
