Artie Lange hospitalized for surgery and might miss court date, lawyer says
Artie Lange is back in the hospital, and that’s not his only problem.
On Tuesday, Lange’s lawyer, Frank Arleo, told Radar Online that the comedian had “surgery for a nasal infection.” The news came three days after the New Jersey Star-Ledger reported that Lange canceled a Thursday show at Scotty’s Pub and Comedy Cove in Springfield, N.J., due to health concerns. Fans were notified of the cancellation only a few hours before Lange was expected to perform.
Laurielle Nagel, the manager of the Comedy Cove, said Lange had been hospitalized.
“His problem is his blood pressure and his sugar,” Nagel said.
Lange, 50, has discussed his struggle with diabetes before, and he’s had to pull the plug on previous shows in recent months.

Lange has also struggled with drug addiction for years. In December, he went to rehab, following a March 2017 arrest for drug possession. He entered a guilty plea but had to postpone a February court date related to his sentencing hearing due to, yes, health issues. He’s now scheduled to be sentenced Friday. His lawyer told Radar Online that he might not be out of the hospital in time to attend.
Lange has some news on the professional front too. He’s no longer going to be a part of “The Arty and Anthony Show” podcast, according to the show’s producer.

Lange is scheduled to be back on the road for a May 30 date at the club where he canceled.
