Australian comedian Hamish Blake revealed he just underwent emergency surgery.

The 42-year-old shared that he had a surgical procedure to remove skin cancer from his forehead, Blake shared via his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, reports News.com.au.

In one of Blake’s photos, he shared a close-up of his new scar and the five stitches he received from the surgery. “I'm doing the other side in a few weeks,” he wrote in the Story, per News.com.au.

He shared a second photo that showed an ever closer photo of the scar. In the caption, Blake clarified that the other side of his forehead is “not really” going to be operated on.

“This is my reminder to anyone who needs it (i.e. everyone) to get your skin checked every six months,” he continued.

The Lego Masters Australia host then confirmed that “everything totally [is] fine,” adding, “But glad she got caught very early.”

Ahead of his emergency surgery, the avid cyclist shared on Instagram that he completed a multisport race on the South Island of New Zealand in mid-February.

He shared that he biked, ran and paddled “over 2 days to get from one side of the country to the other.”

The father of two confessed that he chose to go forward with it because “it sounded like exactly the kind of thing [he] couldn’t do, which sometimes [he] thinks is a great reason you should have a go.”

“It beat us up pretty good but my god was it beautiful while it did it, and has gifted us a lifetime of memories,” wrote Blake. “And a big thanks to my knees who are shitty at me still and have requested a transfer to another body but I know we’ll laugh about it one day. ????,” he jokingly concluded.
