Comedian Trolls HLN in Interview About Edward Snowden

An HLN anchor took time during a broadcast to speak with a purported Edward Snowden supporter. However, that supporter turned out to be a comedian who was simply trolling the TV segment. Every time Jon Hendren, who is known on Twitter as @fart, was asked a question by anchor Yasmin Vossoughian, he responded as though the inquiry were actually about Edward Scissorhands. You know, the Johnny Depp character.

Vossoughian asked, “Do you think Snowden’s [actions] were worth that risk?” Hendren replied, “Well, you know, to say he couldn’t harm someone … well, absolutely he could. But I think to cast him out, to make him invalid in society, simply because he has scissors for hands?”

Perhaps this is just a hoax or social experiment on how quickly stories can spread, because for some reason Hendren, who, again, goes by @fart on Twitter, was allowed to talk at length. “Casting him out is just completely wrong,” Hendren offered. “We’re treating him like an animal, like someone who should be quarantined and put away. Just because he was created on top of a mountain by Vincent Price, incomplete with scissors for hands and no heart. Edward Scissorhands is a complete hero to me.”
