Conan Raises Funds for Border Wall, Gets Trump-Themed Gift From Vicente Fox

Conan O’Brien made a special trek south of the border this week and although he had a little trouble getting into Mexico, he came prepared and quickly took to the streets to raise money for that wall. He brought a wall-shaped coin collection box and offered a personalized a brick in the wall to anyone who donated 500 pesos. Shockingly, he failed to raise a single peso — but he didn’t come away empty-handed: One gentleman offered to put his middle finger in the box.

So Conan checked off items on his Mexico City bucket list — drinking mezcal with Diego Luna, starring in a telenovela, playing soccer with Giovani Dos Santos, and learning the art of lucha libre. He interviewed former President Vicente Fox, who gave Conan some beautiful “No Flipping Wall” boots and offered Trump some advice using the visual aid of an enchilada.

Though Conan got to do some pretty sweet stuff and tell some silly jokes, his trip was about bringing people together, his love of the Mexican people, and building bridges instead of walls.

Conan airs weeknights at 11 p.m. on TBS.
