“The Conners” renewed for seventh and final season
The “Roseanne” follow-up recently celebrated its 100th episode.
The Conners is taking its final bow.
The sitcom, which served as a follow-up to Roseanne, was renewed for its seventh and final season, ABC announced on Friday. "You've been part of this family for years. After 6 seasons, be there to say goodbye," the network posted alongside a YouTube video announcing the last season.
The Conners began in October 2018, effectively replacing the Roseanne continuation that had launched in March of that same year. The return of Roseanne aired nine episodes in the spring of 2018, and was renewed for another season after the success of its premiere. However, that decision was reversed after star Roseanne Barr received widespread criticism for racist social media posts.

The Conners focuses on Roseanne’s family, including her husband Dan (John Goodman), daughter Darlene (Sara Gilbert), and sister Jackie (Laurie Metcalf), all of whom reprise their roles from the original series. Michael Fishman also reprised his role as D.J. for the first four seasons, but said he was surprisingly told he would "not be returning" ahead of season 5. Additionally, Darlene’s children Harris (Emma Kenney) and Mark Conner-Healy (Ames McNamara), who debuted in the Roseanne revival, are series regulars on the show.

Over the course of six seasons, The Conners has also seen recurring turns from actors like Matthew Broderick, Johnny Galecki, Brian Austin Green, Christopher Lloyd, and Sean Astin. Guest stars have included Dan Aykroyd, Whoopi Goldberg, Candice Bergen, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Juliette Lewis, Mary Steenburgen, Danny Trejo, and the late Paul Reubens.

Season 6 of The Conners premiered on Feb. 7, and the show celebrated its 100th episode last month. Showrunner Bruce Helman told Deadline that the season 6 finale could function as a series finale if necessary — but now, the show will have more episodes to wrap up its storylines.
A premiere date for season 7 was not announced.
