Newlyweds Cooper Hefner and 'Harry Potter' actress Scarlett Byrne tease wedding celebrations 'in the months ahead'
Cooper Hefner and Scarlett Byrne have finally made it official after legally marrying on Monday.
The Playboy heir and Harry Potter actress took to social media to announce that they had wed in a courthouse ceremony, although they are still planning a wedding with friends and family in the future. Still, the nuptials are something to celebrate after an over 4-year engagement.
”Cooper and I are excited to share that we legally married,” the bride, who has already changed her Instagram handle to reflect her new last name, captioned a photo of the two in the Ventura, Calif. city clerk’s office. “I cannot wait to continue building a life together. My heart is so full and I am so grateful for our love.”
She added that the newlyweds plan to have a larger wedding in the future.
"We are looking forward to planning our wedding in the coming months where we will celebrate further with our friends and family,” she told fans.
The son of the late Hugh Hefner and Playboy Playmate Kimberley Conrad then posted his own sweet sentiment, writing, "I love you dearly and very much look forward to planning our wedding celebrations in the months ahead.”
Both posts were met with congratulatory messages from family and friends — including former Playboy Playmates and a host of Harry Potter stars.
“Aw congrats to you both,” Kendra Wilkinson commented, while Hugh’s widow Crystal Hefner wrote, “Congrats! So happy for you both.”
Harry Potter actresses Bonnie Wright, Anna Shaffer and Afshan Azad also shared their excitement on Byrne’s post. Evanna Lynch chimed in, “love you and your massive heart!!”
Conrad has yet to publicly address the marriage of her 28-year-old son. However, Byrne has long been close to the family through her six-year relationship with Hefner. On her Instagram, the actress has a photo of the couple with Hugh taken just a few months after they started dating.
The 29-year-old British actress even recently posted a photo of herself with her grandmothers, mom and Conrad, where she praised the “remarkable women.”
She also followed in her mother-in-law’s footsteps by posing for Playboy in 2017 while engaged to Hefner. Conrad was Playmate of the Year in 1989, the same year that she married Hugh.
Monday’s intimate nuptials were a long time coming for the couple, who started dating in October 2013 and got engaged in August 2015. At the time, Byrne was starring in the television show The Vampire Diaries as Nora Hildegard and Hefner was working for Playboy Enterprises. He has since left his role at Playboy following the 2017 death of his father, and started his own media brand in 2019.
