Generate Key Takeaways

When Peter Marino invites you to a ball at Vaux-le-Vicomte, there is no hesitation—it’s a
big yes!

I packed my beautiful pink Oscar de la Renta ballgown and off to Paris I went. The
ball was to raise money for the fountains in the stunning gardens designed by André Le N?tre.
Twenty-two fountains operate in the gardens daily, thanks to a hydraulic system that he
designed and which still works perfectly today.

Before dinner, we were entertained by William Christie and the singers of Les Arts
Florissants. It was the perfect opera, followed by a delicious dinner and then the most beautiful
fireworks bursting in silver and gold. They were the most wonderful I’ve ever seen. It was truly a
magical night.
