Could Post Malone be a surprise guest at Morgan Wallen’s Knoxville concerts?

Morgan Wallen has brought out several surprise guest performers at stops on his blockbuster “One Night at a Time” tour, including Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson and Brooks & Dunn.

What surprises does he have in store for Knoxville at his special shows at Neyland Stadium? Collaborator Post Malone, perhaps? The two singers have one of the biggest songs in the country right now.

Here are a few of the potential surprise guest performers Knoxville crowds could see at Neyland based on tour information and Wallen’s regular collaborators.

Post Malone

Wallen and Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help” peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Even after 18 weeks on the charts, its still in the No. 2 spot as of Sept. 18, and was named the “song of the summer.” The two first performed the song together in April during the country musical festival Stagecoach.

ERNEST and HARDY, the opening acts

Country singer-songwriters ERNEST and HARDY are the scheduled opening acts for the two shows at Neyland Stadium. Wallen has recorded multiple songs with both artists and has performed with each at various points of the “One Night at a Time” tour.

And just to heighten the anticipation of a Post Malone appearance a little bit more, all three artists have collaborated with Post Malone on his new country album. This quartet of artists had a successful chart-topping summer, too.

Wallen songs with ERNEST

  • “Cowgirls” (2024)

  • “Hangin’ On” (2024)

  • “Flower Shops” (2021)

Wallen songs with HARDY

  • “In the Bible” (2023)

  • “Red” (2023)

  • “He Went to Jared” (2019)

  • “Turn You Down” (2019)

Thomas Rhett

A surprise with a Neyland connection would be Thomas Rhett. His wife, Lauren Akins, is a University of Tennessee at Knoxville graduate. Rhett even released as special Vols orange vinyl edition of his 2022 album in honor of his wife.

Rhett and Wallen had a surprise No. 1 hit earlier this year with “Mamaw’s House” (2023). The song was released last year, but was a sleeper hit, nabbing the top spot on the Billboard U.S. Country Airplay in March.

Moneybagg Yo

Wallen is featured on rapper Moneybagg Yo’s genre-blending song “Whiskey Whiskey” (2024). The rapper joined Wallen onstage in June during a show in Minneapolis. Plus he's a native Tennessean, born and raised in Memphis.

Lil Durk

Wallen has a couple of songs with rapper Lil Durk. The two have performed together during previous tours, too.

  • “Stand by Me” (2023)

  • “Broadway Girls” (2021)

Eric Church

Country icon Eric Church joined Wallen during his Stagecoach set in April to perform their song “Man Made a Bar” (2023). They also performed the song at the 57th Annual Country Music Association Awards last year.

More artists on tour with Morgan Wallen

Many musicians, athletes (Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes) and other celebrities have shared moments onstage with Wallen during the mega “One Night at a Time” tour.

Singer Jelly Roll made a guest appearance at "One Night at a Time" show in Las Vegas. Country stars Brooks & Dunn and Lainey Wilson each performed with Wallen during a concert last month in Kansas City, Missouri.

Other artists who have made appearances on Wallen’s tour include:

  • Bailey Zimmerman

  • Nate Smith

  • Bryan Martin

  • Ella Langley

  • Lauren Watkins

  • Jon Pardi

  • Larry Fleet

  • Cole Swindell

  • Parker McCollum

  • Koe Wetzel

Wallen also has collaborated with a few other artists on songs that have either charted or received airplay, including:

  • Chris Stapleton | “Only Thing That’s Gone” (2021)

  • Diplo | “Heartless” (2019)

  • Florida Georgia Line | “Up Down” (2017)

Wallen's concerts at Neyland are Sept. 20 and 22. These will be the first concerts held at Neyland since 2019, when Garth Brooks broke the concert attendance record at the stadium with a crowd of 84,000 people.
