Country music star Jake Owen slams 'ignorant' anti-LGBTQ fan who doesn't 'Believe'
Jake Owen is clapping back at an "ignorant" anti-LGBTQ fan.
The country music star, 37, took to Instagram Monday to share his new rustic cover of Cher's 1998 hit "Believe," which he recorded in support of the LGBTQ community.
"I believe #loveislove," Owen wrote. "Some of my closest friends and coworkers, are part of the #lgbtcommunity and I couldn’t be more happy for the progress they have made…I BELIEVE the world needs more love. No matter where it comes from."
Owen said his inspiration of "people loving people" influenced his latest song, with the help of Google, of course.
"I googled 'gayest' songs of all time and the boys and I decided to put our country spin on Cher’s 'Believe,'" he said. "Hope you dig…Stay tuned friends, and most importantly, love everyone. 🌈"

While Owen's comments section was flooded with messages of support and praise, not everyone appeared to be a fan of his views on equality.
"Suddenly I feel sick that I have tickets to your show here on Thursday night," user @anitasiecker commented.
Best believe that Owen didn't let the diss slide.
In a lengthy response, the singer told his fan that he likes to "share our shows with people that are kind, and loving," adding that he's sorry she feels sick over his support.
"Maybe it would do you good to come out, smile, laugh, sing a long with a bunch of strangers that are all going through what we call 'life,'" he wrote. "If you make it out to my show, come give me a hug. You need one. If you decide not to come, trust me... we will all be okay."

User @anitasiecker accused Owens of deleting her original remarks, but the country star refuted the claim.
"I definitely didn’t delete your comment or anyone’s comment from this feed. It’s really only you and few other ignorant people that make yourself look silly," he said.
Mic drop.
