Country music trio Chapel Hart excited to be home for upcoming free shows
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The all-girl country music trio, Chapel Hart is making moves without forgetting their hometown roots. The gals are from Poplarville, Mississippi and they’re coming home for a series of free shows, including headlining the upcoming “Uncle Sam Jam” in Metairie.
Chapel Hart’s music career is rising, just like fireworks in the sky, and they’ll be performing on July 3rd at “Uncle Sam Jam” for the fireworks extravaganza. “Uncle Sam Jam” is just one of the free shows they’ll be performing at in the coming weeks.
“These have been the glory days, and honestly, what better way to put a cherry on top of all of it after being around the world and back doing a hometown show,” Trea Swindle of Chapel Hart said.
Chapel Hart to perform free show in Mississippi
Chapel Hart first got their start performing on Royal Street in the French Quarter before hitting it big on TV’s “America’s Got Talent.”
“It’s the most honest way to come up as a musician because people on the street will tell you what they think of you, and if they think you’re good or bad,” Danica Hart of Chapel Hart said.
Chapel Hart’s already been given the seal of approval from superstar Dolly Parton for their song, “You Can Have Him Jolene,” which is a sequel to Dolly Parton’s mega-hit, “Jolene.”
“It’s a risk anytime you do a remake or reboot, or a playoff of a song. You want the artist to like it. For Dolly to give us the kiss of approval, we are like yes, and we’re still screaming,” Danica Hart said.
“Somebody asked me what Dolly Parton smelled like, and I was like she smells like baby’s dreams and angel’s tears,” Swindle said.
Chapel Hart’s been living the dream through musical storytelling, forging their own way, breaking barriers for black musicians in country music.
“You know, every blue moon we try to settle down to take it all in. Take a moment to be like ‘we did that,'” Danica Hart said.
“People are relating to the same songs and they can relate to these stories,” Devynn Hart of Chapel Hart said.
The group has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and the NASCAR Cup Series Quaker State 400 in addition to releasing its third album, “Glory Days,” in 2023.
On Saturday, June 22, Chapel Hart will perform in their hometown of Poplarville, Mississippi at Pearl River Community College at 7 p.m.
