Country Singer Admitted to ICU After Suffering Heart Attack Following Performance
Colt Ford
Country music artist Colt Ford is dealing with a serious health emergency, new reports reveal.
The 53-year-old singer and rapper was admitted to the hospital on the evening of Thursday, April 4, shortly after performing at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row in Gilbert, Ariz.
According to an initial report from TMZ, Gilbert suffered a heart attack following the performance and was taken to the Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona, where he is currently being treated in the intensive care unit.
A rep for the country star told the outlet that Ford is in "stable" condition.
Ford—whose real name is Jason Farris Brown—apparently has a history of various health issues, including eye cancer and an autoimmune disease called Myasthenia Gravis, per local Arizona news outlet, AZ Family. It's still unclear at this time if Ford's battle with the disorder has anything to do with the heart attack he suffered Thursday night.
Fans of Ford and other members of the music industry have been sending their well wishes for a speedy recovery to the "Drivin' Around Song" artist online after hearing the news of his recent health scare.
Among them is country singer and former pro baseball pitcher, who tweeted on Friday, "Say a prayer for my good buddy @coltford" along with a photo of the duo performing together on stage.

Ford is perhaps most known for co-writing and originally singing the country song "Dirt Road Anthem," which later became a smash hit when Jason Aldean released his own version in 2010.
Here's hoping Ford has a speedy recovery.
