This country star ‘appalled’ fans last week. He’s coming for a major concert, Boise

A country singer who inadvertently caused a silly fuss on social media last week will be headed in Boise’s direction next year.

Thomas Rhett will headline a concert Sept. 19, 2025, at the Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater in Nampa. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. this Friday, starting at $39.75 plus fees, at fordidahocenter.com. Tucker Wetmore is slated to be the opening act at the show, which is part of Rhett’s Better in Boots tour.

It’s Rhett’s boots — or lack of them — that created a ruckus three days ago. The online debate about etiquette happened after Rhett posted a series of photos on Instagram. One showed him on a plane with his bare feet on the headrest in front of him. This made some fans “appalled,” as one headline put it afterward. Another headline, from People, declared: “Thomas Rhett putting his bare feet on plane headrest is giving fans the ick: ‘Put your dogs away.’“

Rhett took responses in stride. He joked about not knowing that “dawgs” referred to feet. However, People also published advice from a travel expert who said that bare feet on a flight “must be covered at all times.”

Of course, Rhett did appear to be on a private plane. So fussy commenters probably needed to chill.

A singer-songwriter with 22 No. 1 country songs to his name, Rhett, 34, is beloved by fans worldwide. It’s safe to assume that he’ll stroll right through his barefoot “controversy” on the way to the Treasure Valley next year.

As Rhett said in an interview posted Sunday by E Dose Daily, “It’s just feet! I have clean feet!”
