Craig Conover To Welcome Hollywood Star at Sewing Down South
Look out, Charleston! Craig Conover’s Sewing Douth South business is bringing a major celebrity to town. Here’s a hint: you know her from Mamma Mia!, Les Misérables, and Mean Girls. She recently won a Golden Globe and an Emmy for her role as Elizabeth Holmes. It’s Amanda Seyfried!
You’re probably wondering why in the world is this A-list actress visiting Craig’s store. Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with Southern Charm. Still, we’ve got all of the details!
Amanda is going down south
For a Southern Charm superfan, planning a trip to Charleston specifically to visit Sewing Down South probably isn’t too out of the ordinary. You can hit the store and then run around the corner and bar hop between the Southern Hospitality spots. However, that’s not what Amanda is doing.
The Charleston Post and Courier reported that she’s actually hosting a private event at Sewing Down South in support of her brand, Make It Cute. Unfortunately, that means that the regular folks of Charleston won’t be brushing shoulders with Amanda, but you might be able to spot her through a window or something.
Amanda’s brand, Make it Cute, isn’t necessarily a household name, but she’s trying to make it happen like fetch. The company sells these fancy little $220 playhouses that look like they’re for cats, but they’re actually for your children. You can choose between a cottage design or a “modern farmhouse.” The main selling point is supposed to be that they’re free of toxins.
A few years ago, everyone wanted to throw shade at Craig for sewing his little pillows. Now look! Business is booming, and his space is getting a co-sign from a major Hollywood star. Plus, Sewing Down South recently opened a second location in Nashville. Keep on sewing and keep on shining, Craig!
Southern Charm is available to stream on Peacock.
TELL US – HAVE YOU PURCHASED ANYTHING FROM SEWING DOWN SOUTH? WERE YOU AWARE OF AMANDA’S PLAYPEN BUSINESS? WOULD YOU BUY ONE?
