Crew Morrow Makes His Bold and the Beautiful Debut
Crew Morrow is making his debut on Bold and the Beautiful today. As previously reported, the daytime newcomer is playing the son of Will Spencer, the child of Katie Logan, played by Heather Tom, and Bill, portrayed by Don Diamont. Soap Hub chatted with Morrow about following in his famous father’s footsteps!
Family Business
Morrow is, of course, the son of Joshua Morrow, who is celebrating 30 years as Nicholas Newman on Young and the Restless. Ironically, his TV mom, played by Tom was once Morrow’s on-screen sister when she played Victoria on Y&R.
The younger Morrow says his interest in acting came about when he starred in a student short film. “It was good,” he says. “I remember there was this feeling when you’re acting and you’re just living in the moment. I thought, ‘Yep. That’s a feeling that I want to feel again.'”
One doesn’t need to speak to Morrow for very long to pick up on the fact that it’s like talking to a version of his father from voice intonations to words he uses.
“People tell me that all the time, yeah,” he says, “because I look up to him. I want to emulate him.”
Morrow says his dad helped him with the audition scenes that landed him the role of Will. “We have a similar approach [to acting],” he says. “We didn’t [rehearse it] like 1000 times because it almost never feels as good as the first couple of times. Leading up the audition days, we’d always do the scene once or twice a day.”
He didn’t audition with either of his TV parents. Morrow met with the B&B brass led by Bradley Bell, head writer/executive producer and the show’s casting director. “They all the cavalry in there,” Morrow says.
Viewers will have to tune in to see what Will’s all about these days, but Morrow says that Will is “driven, he’s proud. He’s the only Spencer son that grew up with that affluence and that wealth — the billion-dollar mansion, you know, with ‘Dollar’ Bill himself.”
Morrow is over the moon to not only have landed the part, but to have been paired with these particular TV parents. “I literally could not ask for anybody else,” he says.
The daytime newcomer has the best of both worlds as his father tapes at Y&R, which is located right across the hall from B&B. “We totally hang out,” Morrow says.
“I’ll knock on his door and ask if he wants to hang out or go watch a movie [after work].”
As Crew Morrow counts the minutes to watching his daytime TV debut as Will, he has a special message for B&B viewers. “I’m going to give them everything I have and work very hard to satisfy them,” he promises.
