Critics pounce on Mariah Carey's 'inappropriate' interview following the Las Vegas shooting
Following the events at the Route 91 country music festival in Las Vegas, a Mariah Carey interview with Good Morning Britain has been found by some to be in poor taste. Carey was scheduled to appear to promote her U.K. Christmas tour, but when asked about the largest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, the image of Carey lounging on a couch in front of a Christmas tree seems inappropriate.
@GMB Terrible events in Las Vegas. Let's get the views of Mariah Carey in front of a Christmas tree! Irrelevant and inappropriate. #getagrip

Host Piers Morgan acknowledged during the interview that they’d put Carey in a tough spot, saying, “It’s obviously a massive story. It’s not why you were appearing on our program. I think what we’re gonna do is take a break and going to speak to you in the break about how we should go forward.”
Horrified to hear about the shooting in #LasVegas. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. Praying for everyone's safety

While some took issue with Carey, others took aim at Morgan for springing this on her on live television. Morgan fired back in a series of tweets, saying, “Mariah was booked to do an interview about her UK Christmas tour. Obviously news events in Vegas have now taken precedence,” followed by, “We told Mariah’s people before the interview. Her reaction seemed very relevant given she’s a performer who often has residence in Vegas.”
