Millennials might be feeling a little nostalgia with this one. On social media Wednesday, Crocs promoted its platform styles with a new clip referencing a viral video from the mid-aughts. In the clip, actor Liam Sullivan appears as the character he created, Kelly, which first went viral for a song called “Shoes.”

In the new clip, Sullivan appears in drag as Kelly along with two other friends who are also in drag. The trio seem to be requesting shoe styles at a store from a sales lady who remarks on the size of her feet. In the video, the sales woman ends up going to get the shoes in the correct size.

Built around the company’s Siren clog, which is a platform mule, the post references the original “Shoes” song. In that track, Kelly is obsessed with footwear. But while shopping for one pair, a sales attendant says, “Umm this style runs small, I don’t think you’re going to fit. I mean, your feet are kind of big.” Kelly then curses at the attendant and a fight breaks out. The new clip re-writes that ending.

The song returned to the stage this summer when Sullivan performed it at Los Angeles Pride. Sullivan also wrote the viral “Let Me Borrow That Top” song and performed it as Kelly.

Crocs followed the post up promoting its new line. Released last week, the Overpuff Mode series boast puffed-up styles as sandals, was well as short sneaker-like boots.

The line is categorized by its molded and sculpted silhouette but provides functional warmth with fleece lining. The Overpuff Shorty is a $89.99 shoe that includes a bungee cord toggle to close the shoe around the ankle while the Classic Cozzzy Overpuff sandal has a two-strap upper. There’s a version of the classic Crocs style which features a fuzzy fleece lining as well.

Oversized, sculpted sneakers have been in rotation for a while now. In addition to options like the Versace Chain Reaction, Balenciaga has released a series of oversized shoes. Most recently, on the stage of its spring 2025 show, the brand dressed Romeo Beckham in its first-ever basketball sneaker. That was an inflated, sculpted style inspired by shoes like the Nike Foamposite.
