CTA cancels ‘Rave Train’ event on the Brown Line this weekend
CHICAGO — The Chicago Transit Authority has put the kibosh on a “Rave Train” event that was originally planned to take place on the CTA’s Brown Line this weekend.
According to a statement from the CTA, “The event promoted by organizers as the Redline Express “rave train” will not occur along the Brown Line Saturday night, June 15.
“CTA became aware of additional details of the proposed event through the organizer’s promotion that raised concerns regarding rider safety, as well as the sale of event tickets, which does not align with CTA’s policy to charter trains only for private, non-commercial purposes.”
The CTA said after careful consideration of the factors mentioned above, the request could not be approved and no formal agreement was entered between the two parties, with the CTA notifying the event organizer Wednesday.

Hosted by Chicago-based event company Redline, The Redline Express was supposed to take over six CTA cars from 7pm to 11pm this Saturday, with DJs Sock and Buskin headlining a five-hour set aboard the half-dozen cars, where three were going to be dedicated to the DJs performing, and the other three were set to become “experience cars.”
According to the website selling tickets, the Redline Express was completely sold out leading up to the event.
It is unclear at this time how those who purchased a ticket to the one-of-a-kind musical event can go about requesting or receiving a refund for their purchase.
