The 10-episode final season continues to see David as an over-the-top version of himself navigating his social and professional life in Hollywood. The show has spanned nearly 25 years given its irregular production schedule, which was largely dependent on when David felt ready and inspired to make another season. It’s also HBO’s longest-running series.
In December, when David confirmed the new season would be its last, he released this statement: “As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be — the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character. And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”
The series has earned 51 Emmy nominations and two wins.
The series also has a cast of returning names, including Jeff Garlin (The Goldbergs), Susie Essman (Broad City), Cheryl Hines (Suburgatory), J.B. Smoove (Mapleworth Murders), Richard Lewis (Anything but Love), Ted Danson (The Good Place), Vince Vaughn (Wedding Crashers) and Tracey Ullman (Tracey Ullman’s Show).
Some wondered if Garlin, who plays David’s manager Jeff Greene, would appear in the show’s 12th season. The actor exited ABC’s The Goldbergs in December 2021 following HR investigations due to complaints of on-set misconduct. The previous season of Curb aired before the complaints were made public.
Curb is created by David; executive producers are David, Garlin and Jeff Schaffer; co-executive producers are Laura Streicher and Jennifer Corey.
The final season launches weekly on HBO and Max on Feb. 4. First-look photos at the season are below.
