Cute puppies for the win! Celebs and pooches at the Beverly Hills Dog Show
Red carpets. Celebs. Palm trees. Glitz and glamour. And puppies! The Beverly Hills Dog Show Presented by Purina is truly an event like no other.
The show took place at the Pomona Fairplex and though it looked like a Hollywood movie set (note the gold dog-shaped statues), this competition is very real. Over 200 breeds and more than 1,500 dogs are facing it off to make it to the breed finals for each of the seven groups — Sporting, Terrier, Toy, Hound, Working, Herding, and Non-Sporting.
Many of these pooches are seasoned competitors from previous prestigious shows — and you can tell. Judges were wowed by their grooming and poise.
Event host and dog-lover Maria Menounos told Yahoo Entertainment her pets have been therapeutic during challenging times like her brain tumor surgery and recovery. “I know people always say this but, even though I rescued them, they really rescued me. If you don’t have a dog, go out and rescue one, you have no idea how much joy and happiness they will bring into your life.”
The 3rd annual Beverly Hills Dog Show is the only major dog show out of the West Coast to be nationally televised, so if you and your pups at home want to enjoy all the A-list glitz and glam, tune in on NBC on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019 at 1 p.m./10a.m. ET/PT.
