Cyndi Lauper, David Crosby, Robbie Robertson & More Star in PBS’ ‘Speakeasy’ Trailer: Exclusive Premiere
Graham Nash, David Crosby, Cyndi Lauper, and Robbie Robertson are among the iconic musicians featured in the second season of public broadcasting series Speakeasy, debuting Oct. 16.
The series teams Rock And Roll Hall of Famers and Grammy winners with fellow artists in one-on-one conversations, discussing music and beyond. Pairs for this season, taped at New York City’s Lincoln Center, include Frankie Valli with Paul Shaffer, David Crosby with Wynton Marsalis, Cyndi Lauper with Billy Porter, Graham Nash with Rita Coolidge, Ian Hunter with Def Leppard’s Joe Elliot, and Robbie Robertson with Warren Zanes.

“Our goal with Speakeasy is to create a comfortable, intimate environment for our guests,” said Speakeasy executive producer and Front and Center Entertainment founder, Don Maggi in a statement. “This leads to stories, experiences and compelling viewpoints that, as fans, we’ve never heard before. The result is great television.” Among the artists featured on season one were Nile Rodgers, Carlos Santana, John Mellencamp, Geddy Lee and Harry Belafonte.
The exclusive clip highlights the new season. Valli shares the secrets of tight underwear when it comes to hitting high notes, Lauper and Hunter reveal their writing process, Nash and Coolidge remember the night they met, Robertson recounts the call to work with Bob Dylan, Crosby talks about being a rock star in prison and much more.
