Cynthia Erivo, Addison Rae and More Stars Who Favored Corsetry at the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards
After lingerie-inspired looks were a major trend on the runways of Gucci, Balenciaga and Nensi Dojaka during the spring 2025 season, the fad has translated to the red carpet at the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards, held in New York on Monday. Stars including the evening’s host, Cynthia Erivo, and Addison Rae favored structured corsetry, sporting designs by the likes of Thom Browne, Vivienne Westwood and Zac Posen.

Cynthia Erivo
Cynthia Erivo brought gothic elegance to the red carpet in a black velvet hooded gown by Zac Posen for Gap, which also featured a flared skirt. The designer was named Gap Inc’s executive vice president and creative director in February.
Erivo was styled by Jason Bolden, who also counts Nicole Kidman and Cara Delevingne as clients. Makeup artist Joanna Simkin gave her burgundy eyeliner and coral blush.
Addison Rae
Addison Rae evoked the aquatic themes of her new single “Aquamarine” in a plaid sequined mermaid skirt designed by Thom Browne, pairing it with a gray corset top, a pearl necklace and a shell-shaped clutch. She wore her blond tresses in waves, while her makeup consisted of sparkly silver eyeshadow and a stained lip.
Rae currently works with stylist and model Dara Allen, who also serves as the fashion director of Interview Magazine. Allen curated Rae’s recent looks at the 2024 Academy Museum Gala and the MTV Video Music Awards, as well as her wardrobe for the “Aquamarine” music video.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph
Da’Vine Joy Randolph wore a brown Wiederhoeft dress from the label’s spring 2025 collection, which featured layered tulle along the skirt. Metallic pumps topped off the actress’ look.
Tayshia Adams
Tayshia Adams of “The Bachelor” fame wore a strapless satin Vivienne Westwood gown featuring the label’s signature draped corsetry. Adams added on matching gloves, open-toe heels and diamond-encrusted jewelry, including statement earrings and a cocktail ring.
Stylist Zoe Gofman dressed the reality star for the evening, while makeup artist Renee Sanganoo gave her brown eyeshadow and lip gloss. Hairdresser Brenton Kane Diallo styled Adams’ dark tresses in a long bob.
The 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards took place at the American Museum of Natural History in New York on Oct. 28, with Cynthia Erivo hosting. Honorees at this year’s ceremony included Coach, Michael Kors, Annie Leibovitz and Erykah Badu, who received the coveted Fashion Icon Award.
