Who Is Dacre Montgomery's Girlfriend? All About Liv Pollock
The 'Stranger Things' actor has been dating model Liv Pollock since 2017
Dacre Montgomery has been off the market since 2017.
The Stranger Things actor has been dating Australian model Liv Pollock for six years. Sharing the same hometown of Perth, Western Australia, Pollock explained that they met through mutual contacts and have been inseparable ever since.
“Perth being a small place, we knew each other through mutual contacts from work,” she said during an April 2018 interview with Australian outlet The Daily Telegraph. “Then through social media started talking, developing our relationship and it grew from there.”
Montgomery joined the cast of Netflix’s Stranger Things as Billy Hargrove in 2017 and has been a public figure since they first got together. Pollock spoke of her beau’s fame and its impact — or lack thereof — on their relationship.
“It doesn’t change anything, our relationship has been built on our similar values and an adventurous nature,” she noted. “Just because his career places him within the public eye, doesn’t and would never be a factor that we would let influence our relationship, nor should it.”
The pair often share sweet snaps across their Instagram accounts, sharing a glimpse of their lives with their over 9 million combined followers. In 2019, Montgomery shared a heartfelt post that called Pollock the “backbone of everything [he does].”
“I want to use this moment (and platform) to thank @liv.pollock — it’s not often that partners get the recognition and appreciation for just how much they do,” the caption read. “This woman right here is the backbone of everything I do. She’s the brains AND the elegance. She’s the one that packs up her bags and moves around the world for me.”
So, who is Dacre Montgomery’s girlfriend? Here’s everything there is to know about Australian model Liv Pollock.
She’s a model
Pollock is a model currently signed with Australian model agency Vivien’s Model Management. She has starred in various swimwear and editorial campaigns, and in 2020, graced the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Kazakhstan alongside Montgomery.
“Modeling for me has been incredible,” she told The Daily Telegraph. “It has allowed me to meet fantastic people and taken me travelling. I will continue to pursue this career path coupled with finishing my architecture degree.”
She and Montgomery made their red carpet debut in 2018
The sweet couple first walked the red carpet in April 2018 while attending the 9th Annual Thirst Gala, which took place at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. Pollock donned a long red dress and Montgomery opted for a simple white shirt and black suit jacket combination.
Since making their public debut as a couple, the two have attended several glamorous events together — most recently being the Politix Ambassador Announcement, which took place at restaurant Hubert in Sydney, Australia, in January 2023.
Though Pollock is used to being in front of the camera, she told swimwear brand It’s Now Cool that she still gets nervous when approaching the carpet.
“There hasn’t been a carpet in which I haven’t [been nervous] and I don’t think those nerves will ever go away,” she said. “It’s such a surreal experience as there is always so much going on, my nerves are always leading up to the carpet and the anticipation of lining up and waiting. As soon as I’m in front of the cameras I slip into the comfort of modeling and kind of forget about the craziness of it all.”
She studied architecture
Pollock previously studied architecture at the University of Western Australia, though she took a gap year to move to the U.S. with Montgomery.
“We are both also really passionate about design,” she explained during her 2018 interview with The Daily Telegraph. “I’m studying architecture and Dacre has studied interior design so we were drawn to each other through our mutual love of design.”
Her grandmother owns a farm
In a 2019 interview with The West Australian, Pollock spoke of her grandmother’s farm and how she enjoys helping out with the animals — a world away from the glitzy A-list celebrity events and modeling shoots. She explained that, a couple of months prior to the interview, she was riding around the farm on a motorbike to assist her grandmother with farming processes such as tagging, drafting and worming sheep for wool production.
The model explained that her grandmother had been selling the wool to fashion houses in Italy for 30 years — and one day Pollock hoped to experience the “proud moment” of wearing a wool garment.
“I was so proud of the environment my grandmother had created. It looked like a very well-oiled machine, coupled with loads of '70s music, farm dogs and beautiful wool,” she said. “If I can, I would love to help out at shearing time this year.”
She’s an ambassador for the Australian Red Cross
Both Pollock and Montgomery are ambassadors of the Australian Red Cross. During an interview with PeopleTV at the 2020 SAG Awards pre-show, Montgomery explained that the couple were working on relief efforts surrounding the devastating Australian bushfires.
“I’m officially becoming an ambassador for the Australian Red Cross,” the actor said. “As we know, Australia is experiencing some extremely hard times. A lot of people now are affected. My partner and I are trying to do everything we can to find out. I’ve created a GoFundMe, we’re trying to raise funds.”
She’s a recipe developer
Pollock is a talented cook and currently works with online fitness platform The Pilates Class as a recipe developer and food stylist.
The model even has her own dedicated Instagram account to show off her tantalizing recipes. Posting under the handle @livpollockeats, she shares delicious meals that have brought in over 4,000 followers. Standout posts include gourmet fish dishes, colorful salads and plenty of sweet treats.
She lives a holistic lifestyle
During an interview with It’s Now Cool, Pollock explained that she takes pride in her holistic approach to beauty and fitness. On the days she is “feeling a little bit low,” she prioritizes moving her body.
“If I’ve woken up feeling a little bit low on a shoot day I try and move my body, whether that’s going for a walk or maybe a little morning yoga flow. I always feel better after I’ve moved,” she explained.
Delving further into her workout routine, she said that she keeps things really relaxed and enjoys switching it up.
“Honestly, I am very relaxed when it comes to my fitness routine it honestly all just depends on how I am feeling day to day. My favourite workout is Pilates, I love that it targets lengthening and leaning your muscles,” she said. “I also love yoga when I’m feeling like I want to take it a bit slower or if I’m feeling a little off mentally, I always find yoga really grounds me and I always leave feeling 1000x better.”
She enjoys traveling
Between her and Montgomery’s jobs, the couple travel a lot. In 2018, she took a year off from her studies to explore the world.
“I’m having a gap year from architecture to explore and travel as I believe life experiences are an equally powerful means of learning,” she told The Daily Telegraph at the time.
Although she splits her time between Australia and the United States, having spent a period of time based in Atlanta while Montgomery was filming Stranger Things, she is keen to see more of the U.S.
“I have been super fortunate to have spent the last few years bouncing back and forth between Australia and the States, one of the things I’ve loved the most about my time in America was meeting so many new amazing people,” she told It’s Now Cool. “I feel very fortunate to have friends across the globe and am hoping to get back there soon! There are so many epic places to visit in America so I am definitely excited to continue exploring it in the years to come.”
