Damon Dash has opened up about his reaction to the federal indictment accusing Sean “Diddy” Combs of sex trafficking, racketeering, and sexual assault, voicing his hope that the mogul is innocent of the charges against him. During an episode on his Nu America Network YouTube channel, he deemed Diddy’s alleged transgressions as “terrible,” but insists he holds no ill will towards the Bad Boy Records founder. “Watching what’s going on with Puff, it doesn’t feel good,” the Harlem native began. “I don’t want to see someone… die or be tortured,” he added. “I’m not going to celebrate the pain of anybody, any human being, even if they deserve it. The things that they’re saying… they’re terrible. It’s hard for me to even think that any of those things can be true. I don’t want them to be true. They’re saying they’re going to pick him up next year. I don’t want to see that man go to jail.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs attends the 2022 Billboard Music Awards at MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 15, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Elsewhere in the episode, Dash questioned why his former business partner-turned-adversary JAY-Z has yet to comment on the looming allegations against Combs, who has turned into a media and cultural pariah in the wake of the accusations against him. Dash says that he would be disappointed if JAY-Z were to be tied to Combs’ questionable and criminal behavior in any way given their personal history and JAY’s relationship with his eldest son, Boogie Dash. “As much as he’s been to me unfair toward, or not unfair,” Dame said, referencing their ongoing legal dispute regarding Dash’s ownership stake in Roc-A-Fella Records and Hov’s Reasonable Doubt album. “The way he’d be f**king with my money, I want to hope that that’s the worst that he’s been doing.”

Shawn Carter attends the Los Angeles premiere of “The Harder They Fall” at Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall on October 13, 2021 in Los Angeles, California. The 53-year-old continued, adding, “I would never want to hear like, ‘Jay at the freak off party’, that’s crazy. The sh*t they saying, and I just be wondering why nobody… he don’t say nothing about it.” Any unsavory allegations against JAY-Z would be another crushing blow to Hip-Hop, given Hov’s stature and reverence within the culture and society as a whole. “Regardless of what, perception-wise, Jay is also a pillar of Hip-Hop, and if anything bad happens to him, then it’s really going to look crazy for Hip-Hop,” Dash surmised.

“Jay’s supposed to be my son’s godfather. How does he do that to Boogie’s godson’s father?” The serial entreprenur reiterated his hope of the contrary, concluding, “There are some levels that I know are dark, but again, I’m just hoping that it’s not that dark.” See Damon Dash speak on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ indictment and JAY-Z’s silence regarding the matter below.
