“I think [‘Dedication Night‘] really showed everyone stepping up their game across the board, was really just proud of everyone in the work that they did,” says Gold Derby contributor Cordell Martin. The competition is is getting tougher, which is what should be happening at this point in the season,” agrees Gold Derby editor Daniel Montgomery. Unfortunately, that meant model Brooks Nader was eliminated despite dancing a pretty good salsa. Martin and Montgomery discussed “Dedication Night,” and previewed the upcoming “Disney Night,” with fellow Gold Derby contributor Jeffrey Kare. Watch above.

Nader wasn’t the only celeb who had a rough night. Actress Chandler Kinney, who had the highest score from the judges in the first three episodes of the season, dropped to the middle of the pack despite dancing a contemporary, a style that usually produces high scores. “The judges kind of are holding her to a higher standard because she did start at such a high level, which I think is fair to a certain degree,” argues Montgomery. But that also means “she can dance better than everyone else on that stage, and the judges will be looking for more from her. That part of it is a little unfair.”

“The Bachelor” star Joey Graziadei had much better luck, topping the leaderboard for the second time in a row, this time tied with football star Danny Amendola. “I think he continues to get stronger and stronger as the season goes on,” Kare states about Graziadei. “He has everything going for him, from the strength [of his dancing] to the fan base.” Martin goes as far as to say, “You’ll be a fool not to put your money behind him as the winner, if not the runner-up for this season.”
