‘Dancing With The Stars’ Pro Artem Chigvintsev Arrested On Suspicion Of Domestic Violence
Dancing With the Stars pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev was arrested in Northern California earlier Thursday and taken into custody after a domestic violence incident.
Chigvintsev was booked this morning in Napa County, CA on California penal code 273.5(a), which makes it illegal to injure a spouse, cohabitant or fellow parent in an act of domestic violence. His bail was set at $25,000, according to jail records. No other information was provided on the incident.

The Napa County Sheriff’s Office told TMZ the incident took place in Yountville, CA just before 10 a.m., when deputies responded to a domestic violence call. An arrest was made at the scene, and injuries were reportedly involved.
No victim was identified. Chigvintsev has been married to former WWE wrestler Nikki Garcia (aka Nikki Bella) since 2022, but it’s unclear whether she was involved in the incident.
ABC is currently prepping for the 33rd season of the celebrity dancing competition series. Deadline understands that Chigvintsev was not scheduled to be a part of the new DWTS season, which is set to premiere September 17.
That is surprising as Chigvintsev, who had previously appeared in four seasons of the UK’s Strictly Come Dancing, has been a fixture on the U.S. version for more than a decade, first as a troupe dancer and then as a pro beginning in 2014. He has appeared in 12 seasons of DTWS and 10 of the past 11 including last year, when he was paired with Charity Lawson. He won with partner Kaitlyn Bristowe in the 2020 season.
He met his eventual wife Garcia when they partnered on the show’s 2017 cycle.
Chigvintsev was also a part of the Dancing with the Stars Live 2024 tour earlier this year.
