Rylee Arnold got hurt during dance practice with her partner Stephen Nedoroscik. On September 29, Arnold gave fans a heads up about the sprain. “Suffered a little injury last night in rehearsal, so starting my day by heading to pt,” she explained. “Got an ankle sprain!” she explained alongside a photo of her ankle wrapped in ice. “Going to be very careful to keep my ankle healthy.”
The dance pro later shared more details on Snapchat. “I have a sprained ankle but it’s going to be just fine,” she explained. “I’m going to do everything I can these next couple weeks to just be really careful to be sure it doesn’t happen again, so that it doesn’t get worse.”

The accident happened during rehearsal when she roller her ankle. “Basically we were just running the dance and I hopped on my foot and just rolled it on the outside edge,” Arnold noted. “Crazy, but everything’s going to be just fine.” She also posted a photo of the moment it happened and it looked pretty painful.
Fans are understandably concerned about how Arnold is recovering and if the injury will impact her dancing. In a Reddit discussion, many fans said they hoped she could rest up and heal. “Knowing Rylee, there’s about zero chance she sits out,” one fan noted. “She performed on tour with a bad hip injury flips and all, but I do hope she can get rest and heal. It wouldn’t be a bad idea for her to bring in Stephani or Kaitlyn at least today for rehearsals and have them dance with Stephen while she gives critiques.”
Another fan pointed out, “She seems pretty chill about it so I think she’ll be okay but this sucks so early in the season.”

Others discussed how DWTS works this week, given that there’s a vice presidential debate on Tuesday, October 1. The dancers aren’t technically off this week, as they will be taping their dances for an episode that airs on October 7.
“There isn’t a live show this week. They are prerecording on Tuesday that will air next Monday, and then a live show next Tuesday,” one fan noted.
Some Dancing With the Stars fans wondered if another pro will fill in for Arnold to allow her to rest. “That’s likely what will happen!” one person said. “Daniella [Karagach] sprained her ankle last season and in the package she said Alexis filled in a lot during rehearsals, but she was okay enough to perform for the live show.”
A fellow Dancing With the Stars pro was on hand to help Arnold during her recovery. She posted a video of Sasha Farber on her Instagram Story, noting he was “taking care of me.” In the clip, Farber showed off his cooking skills, as he made her steak and potatoes for dinner.
