The competition series already got quite a facelift with last Tuesday’s premiere, having moved back to ABC with new hosts. Heading into Week 2, though, we learned that the judges’ save has been scrapped for Season 32 (for now, at least), and pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev sat out Tuesday’s broadcast after testing positive for COVID, leaving The Bachelorette‘s Charity Lawson to dance with troupe member Ezra Sosa.
The biggest Week 2 change, though, might have been the numbers on the judges’ paddles, which fluctuated pretty substantially from many of the scores they gave last week. For some, like Buffy‘s Alyson Hannigan and model Tyson Beckford, that meant a six-point (!) improvement on last week’s scores; for others, like Real Housewives star Mauricio Umansky, it meant dropping another three points to earn the lowest score of the night. Gulp.

In a surprising turn of events, Mauricio Umansky — who was in the Bottom Two last week, and noticeably fumbled a decent chunk of his routine on Tuesday — stayed out of jeopardy altogether this week, leaving Jamie Lynn and Adrian at risk. And though Derek Hough called Jamie Lynn’s ouster a shocker, I’m not sure it was: Jamie Lynn certainly had potential, but she landed near the bottom of the leaderboard for two straight weeks, and her performance slot toward the end of Latin Night didn’t offer much of an opportunity for her to play catch-up with votes after receiving so-so scores.
But what did you think of Jamie Lynn’s elimination, and Latin Night overall? Tell us below!
