Considered one of the greatest musicals, “Gypsy” tells the story of an ambitious stage mom’s unflinching efforts to propel her two daughters into show business. The original production, which introduced standards like “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” “Rose’s Turn” and “Let Me Entertain You,” opened on Broadway in 1959 and was revived four times, in 1974, 1989, 2003 and 2008 .

Preview performances will begin Nov. 21, 2024 ahead of opening night on Dec. 19. “Gypsy” will play at Broadway’s newly renovated Majestic Theatre, which housed “The Phantom of the Opera” for the last 30 years before it closed in 2023.

After several nominations, Burstein won his first Tony Award in 2020 for playing nightclub emcee Harold Zidler in “Moulin Rouge.” He’s starred in 19 Broadway shows across his career and has also received Tony noms for “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Cabaret” and “The Drowsy Chaperone.”
