Danny Clinch pop-up gallery brings rock superstars to Red Bank
Danny Clinch is laying down tracks in Red Bank.
Transparent by the Tracks, a Transparent Clinch Gallery pop-up, is up and running at 200 Monmouth St. in Red Bank, under the Lambs and Wolves salon near the Red Bank train station.
“We had an opportunity to go to our next door neighbor and spread the world of the Transparent Gallery,” Clinch said. “We try to do a little bit of the greatest hits, certainly Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Dylan, stuff like that.”
Clinch’s pictures have appeared in Rolling Stone, Spin, Vanity Fair, Esquire, GQ and the New York Times Magazine. He’s been nominated three times by the Grammys for his musical films, and he’s shot the covers of Nas’ “Illmatic,” Johnny Cash’s “Solitary Man” and Kanye West’s “The College Dropout.”
He's also shot multiple Springsteen albums, starting with 2002’s “The Rising,” and most recently 2020's “Letter to You.”
The Toms River-native operates the Transparent Clinch Gallery with wife Maria Barba-Clinch and scene maker Tina Kerekes.
“I love being by the train tracks, and we posted a couple of photos that we would call the classic train track photos — Eddie Vedder, Moby, Don Henley,” said Clinch of the Red Bank pop-up.
Prints, T-shirts and more are for sale in Red Bank. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County.
Clinch, who also co-founded the Sea Hear Now festival in Asbury Park, will appear in "A Conversation with Danny Clinch" at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Transparent by the Tracks in Red Bank.
He'll be talking about his photographs and doing a Q&A. Tickets are $50, which can go toward the purchase of his art photography. Beverages for the evening will be provided by Triumph Brewery; the adjacent Booskerdoo coffeehouse will be open from 7 to 9 p.m. that evening.

Hours of Transparent by the Tracks are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. The gallery is scheduled to close on Monday, July 15.
“We have a lot of amazing people on the walls, a lot of different artists from rap to R&B to singer-songwriters to country — everything you can image,” said Red Bank host Courtney Walsh. “The best part about it is Danny has a story behind every photo. So knowing about the stories and sharing them is the best part of being here.”
