They were two of the biggest franchises of the 1980s. They have remained popular through a series of reboots, and even crossed over for a Mattel toy line last year. This fall, Dark Horse Comics will present a team-up story previously restricted to playgrounds around the world, joining the Masters of the Universe and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The action unfolds in a four-part mini-series titled Masters of the Universe/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles of Grayskull. The Dark Horse Comics series finds the Ninja Turtles sent to Eternia, after stumbling across Shredder making a bargain with Skeletor. Soon Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo are teaming up with the Masters of the Universe to kick some blue boney butt.

Dark Horse Comics’ MOTU/TMNT Creative Team

Dark Horse Comics has assembled a perfect creative team for Masters of the Universe/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles of Grayskull. The scripts will be written by long-time He-Man writer Tim Seeley. The art is being provided by Freddie E. Williams II, who previously drew the Injustice/Masters of the Universe and Batman/TMNT crossovers. The color art is being handled by Space Ghost colorist Andrew Dalhouse, and the letters by AndWorld Design.

Tim Seeley noted how surprising it was this crossover event had yet to take place. “As inevitable as a meet up between He-Man and the Turtles has felt, it took some time getting done! And now that it’s here, I have a huge pile of newly purchased figures, and a bunch of pages for what is one of the most awesome comics I’ve ever gotten to work on.”

Freddie E. Williams II was equally enthusiastic about the new Dark Horse Comics event. “This crossover has a long lineage- many of us fans have been bashing He-Man and the Ninja Turtles together since we were kids! And I’m honored and thrilled to draw it!”

Masters of the Universe/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles of Grayskull #1 (of 4) will be available in comic shops everywhere on September 25, 2024.
