Dark Matter Season 2 Renewal Confirmed, Showrunner Issues Statement
Apple TV+ has officially ordered the Dark Matter Season 2 renewal for its newest sci-fi thriller drama series. This comes after over a month since the show had wrapped up its 9-episode first installment, which currently holds a Certified Fresh rating of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes.
What did the showrunner say about Dark Matter Season 2?
“Thanks to everyone who tuned-in for season one – book fans and new fans – and of course our partners at Apple and Sony, my amazing producing partner, Matt Tolmach, our tremendous cast and crew, and the great city of Chicago – you were so good to us,” showrunner Blake Crouch said in a statement. “In the process of writing and filming season one, we discovered that there’s so much more story to tell, and we’ve only scratched the surface of these characters as they fight for survival and to find their way home through a landscape of mind-bending realities. See you in the Box!”
Dark Matter is created, written and executive produced by Crouch, based on his 2016 novel of the same name. The series stars Joel Edgerton as Jason Dessen, Jennifer Connelly as Daniela Dessen, Alice Braga as Amanda Lucas, Oakes Fegley as Charlie Dessen, Jimmi Simpson as Ryan Holder, Dayo Okeniyi as Leighton Vance, Amanda Brugel as Blair Caplan and more. It is executive produced by Edgerton, Matt Tomach, and Jacquelyn Ben-Zekry.
