“Dark Winds” season three begins filming in New Mexico
NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – New Mexico Film Office Director Amber Dodson announced season three of “Dark Winds” has begun filming in and around Santa Fe and Tesuque Pueblo.

“Dark Winds” is is executive produced by multiple names, including George R. R. Martin. The series stars Zahn McClarnon, Kiowa Gordon and Jessica Matten. “Dark Winds” is based on Tony Hillerman’s book series ‘Leaphorn and Chee’. The series is set in the 1970’s in the Navajo Nation and follows Lieutenant Leaphorn and Deputy Chee as they attempt to solve a crime that leads them deeper into mystery.
“We are elated to welcome ‘Dark Winds’ back for season three,” Dodson said in a release. The production will employ 200 New Mexico crew members, 90 New Mexico actors and 280 background/extras, according to the New Mexico Film Office.
