Dave Franco Latest To Join Josh Boone Adaptation Of Colleen Hoover’s ‘Regretting You’
Dave Franco (Love Lies Bleeding) has been tapped for a role opposite Allison Williams and Mckenna Grace in Regretting You, the upcoming adaptation of the 2019 novel from It Ends with Us scribe Colleen Hoover, Deadline has confirmed.
The news comes amid the successful theatrical release of Sony’s It Ends With Us adaptation, starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, which has proven a big hit, opening to a gross of around $80 million worldwide.

Regretting You centers on the complex relationship between Morgan Grant (Williams) and her daughter, Clara (Grace). Morgan became a mother at a young age, putting her own dreams on hold to raise Clara. As Clara grows into a teenager, their relationship becomes strained, especially after a tragic accident claims the life of Chris, Morgan’s husband and Clara’s father.
Franco plays Jonah, Morgan’s love interest following the loss of her husband.
Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) will direct from a script by After‘s Susan McMartin. The project hails from Constantin Film, whose Robert Kulzer is set to produce, along with Brunson Green and Anna Todd.
Most recently, Franco has been seen starring opposite Kristen Stewart, Katy O’Brian and more in the darkly comedic romantic thriller Love Lies Bleeding, co-written and directed for A24 by Rose Glass, which hit theaters in March after world premiering to critical acclaim at Sundance. In recent years, the actor has also been seen in films like Day Shift, along with series like Apple’s well-liked murder mystery comedy The Afterparty.
Up next, Franco will be seen in Lionsgate’s Now You See Me 3, as well as Together, an indie horror pic which he produced and starred in with wife Alison Brie. He is represented by WME, Anonymous Content, and Felker Toczek Suddleson.
